Surgery for polyp removal

A friend just had a polyp removed. The doctor said it was very large and hard to remove. How long with the recovery time be? The doctor said several weeks. How long will it take to find out if the polyp was cancerous?

It will take one to two weeks for the biopsy report to come back.
