Sharp stabbing pain in lower stomach

Two weeks ago I ate a fiber bar. I usually eat one everyday so i can go #2. it had been about 5 or 6 days since I had gone #2. After I ate the fiber bar, I got bad bad knife sharp pains. Since then the pain has not stopped. I went to the Doctor's and he had me get a drink that you use to clean yourself out. It tasted so bad. It took almost 3 hours to go #2 but oh my did it work. I still have this crazy bad pain. i do not have insurance and yet my friend's tell me that the pain is telling me something is wrong. Any suggestions. There is a lot of cancer in my family but no colon cancer. I am 56 years old. I had a colonostomy when I was 50, and it came out clean.
