Prognosis for 85 y/o man with bladder and colon cancer

My father just had about a foot of his large intestine removed due to a mass that was preventing bowel movements. It has been found that he does have cancer and it's spread to 5 of 11 lymph nodes. The polyps in his bladder are also cancerous and will have to be addressed later. The doctors give a grim outlook, saying chemo would be too intense for him. Can you please give me an idea of what to expect in the coming months?
