Post surgery of colon cancer

My mother age is 62+ she got recently operated for colon cancer on 5th Feb'11 and part of her right side large intestine was removed . Surgery was successful and the biopsy report was clear. 14 days after her stitches were removed, surgeon advised no medication is required. Prior to the surgery she used to take multivitamins regularly. Can i start giving her multivitamins, as She looks weak and when she walks few steps, she gets tired.
