pain spasms following radiotherapy and colorectal surgery

by Edie
(UK)

My husband had a 5 day course of radiotherapy 2 weeks prior to his operation to remove a tumour in his rectum.

5 weeks after surgery he is still in constant pain of varying levels. He suffers dreadful pain spasms, some caused by large amounts of wind. How long should this continue? - is this quite normal? Is the radiotherapy still working in his body?
