malignant tumor in my sigmoid colon

On Tuesday I'm going to a surgery clinic, i guess to see what has to be done on me cause they found Malignant tumor in the sigmoid colon.
So yes I'm very scared cause i need to know how bad it is, I'm 54 years old i had a colonoscopy performed on May 06, 2010. I would like to know how bad is it the kind of tumor that was found in me... thank you
