Link between colon cancer and gallbladder removal?

Hello, I was diagnosed with a cancerous colon polyp in July 2009 and was very lucky to have had a colonoscopy in time! I was a T1 and was told to have CEA blood tests, chest X-Ray and CT scan to make sure all was OK and it was, at least for the moment!!
In 1998 I had to have my gallbladder removed as I'd had pains in my stomach which were diagnosed as stones.
I recently read that there could be a link between colon cancer and gallbladder removal, though my gastroenterologist says my polyp was hereditary, and there isn't a risk, but last week my daughter who is 29 yrs old had to have hers removed too and this is very worrying for me!
Can anyone tell me if her already greater than normal risk of getting cancerous colon polyps is worse now please?
