Large flat Polyp

by David byrne
(UK)

My mother is 72 and has been having diarrhoea and has also lost a lot of weight, with watery bloody stools. I do not know how long she has been experiencing this, but she had a colonoscopy and they removed a couple of polyps, and foound one large flat elongated polyp that could not be removed. She has now been refered for a CT scan of lungs and also pelvis before they decide how to remove the polyp. Question is: is there something she is not telling me here? as she has tried to keep even her appointments from me.

In the US typically if they see cancer they tell the patient right there. They are very experienced and recognize cancer since they see it so much. Make sure she keeps all of her appointments. I don't know if she isn't telling you something or not. Ask her, you might offer to go with her to her appointments. If you aren't able to maybe someone else could go. It's difficult to remember everything they tell you when you are the patient. Good luck.
