Recent Colonoscopy
by: Mary

I hope you are all correct about doctors not being idiots. I had a colonoscopy about 5 days ago. The doctor found 5 polyps, all in the same area. He called them polyps, said "not to worry and see you in 3 weeks". I have lost my mother, my father, my fiancee and my children's father all this year and I am over the top with stress so this did not help. I have called to see if they have the pathology back yet and each time I call and get a different nurse and I get a different answer. They are cold and uncaring. If things are OK, I will find another doctor, but it really helped to see a few posts that said a doctor can sometimes tell just from looking at a polyp that it is cancer. If he would have just told me that.......

immediate diagnosis

I had the same experience right after my colonoscopy, before I even got up, dressed or anything, the doctor came in and said I had cancer. I also think they just see it so often and a good doctor who does a lot of these knows. Personally for me it was a blessing, I had already prepared for the colonoscopy so they got me right in to have a CT scan and I had surgery within 10 days.

tumor

I was also told my tumor was cancer after my colonoscopy, it turned out it was cancer. I believe they see so many tumors they are able to recognize cancer when they see it.
