by Reese
(Metairie, La)
I had stage three colon cancer in 2009 and had surgery and them chemo for six monthe. This chemo consister of one day of chemo at the cancer center then two more days continously wearing portable chemo. I had severe side effects and in fifth month was taken off one of the drugs due to neuropathy damage. I learned that I had been given 30% more of the chemo drugs than had been prescribed. Further the drugs stayed in my body longer due to a slowed metabolism. The ongoing results are that I had neuropathy in nerves in my brain (I have no short term memory, I have neuropathy in my neck which is very painful. I cannot focus on difficult issues or numbers. I frequently forget where I am or what I am saying. I also have neuropathy in my left side of my body.
Prior to cancer I was an outstanding attorney,
Now I am in grave financial distress as I cannot find a job other than minium wage.
My neurologist has prescribed 1800 milligrams of neurotin a day.
Where can I find help with living expenses.
