Why can you not eat red or purple foods or drinks, even if it is a natural color?

get knocked out for pain and curry stains
by: Anonymous

curry has turmeric, which does stain very strong, but it is actually supposed to be the wonder spice for colon cancer, i haven't had this problem with my precleanse and neither has my mom (and she's had dozens over the years) but neither one of us has had curry before a colonoscopy, the reds and purple are definate no no and we try to stay away from that stuff for a couple days before hand, orange seems to be not near as bad, which is my fav, so no prob with that for me. ask them to knock you out more, i even know someone who requests going to a hospital setting instead of outpatient so she can be knocked out by a anestesiologist. by the way i recently had 2 in one week, try and top that, and i have a third in month from the last

coloured foods before colonoscopy
by: Anonymous

I would also like to know why, because after ticking off glass by glass the 4 litres of Isocolan solution the day before my colonoscopy and only "eating" clear broths, white bread, boiled chicken and potatoes for 4 days before, my results were not "sufficient" for my doctor, who was also very cold with me during and after the colonoscopy, which I might add was extremely painful (my third in 12 months!) even more so than the previous 2!!
I can only say that 6 days before!! I had had a curry, made by myself and can only think it was this that "coloured" my colon!!
