Fecal blood screening was positive and I'm worried if my symptoms are progressing so fast

I have had a fecal blood screening which was positive. I am anxiously waiting for an appointment in a week and concerned about being able to have a colonoscopy very quickly. In the meantime I am wondering if my symptoms indicate a tumor has progressed. I have inconsistent symptoms: pencil thin stool on occasion, loose stool and sometimes diarrhea which appears to correct if I use the BRAT diet, a sense of trapped gas that wakes me up in the early hours of the morning and is not alleviated until I have bowel movement, sometimes have a regular good circumference stool, no pain only night time discomfort of trapped gas which seems to be in the part of the bowel that stretches horizontally before the left descending bowel, Am very panicked and spend a good amount of time reading and rereading on-line. Age 66, otherwise in good health, not overweight, no history in family.
