doubt about young adult colon canceer
by: ALBERT

That is my point. Because they are too young they didn’t check if they have colon cancer until they found blood in their stool, and it’s always been an advanced stage of colon cancer.
If they did a stool test years before they saw the blood, they could have found the cancer at an early stage which require a very simple procedure in 20 to 30 minutes at the doctor office which is a colonoscopy during which the polyp is removed and the patient would go home the same day. If they have done that, they didn’t have to go through all that problems associated with the major surgery of colon resection which is followed by many difficult side effects such as they can’t eat many kinds of food and the recovery of that surgery is not an easy experience. You can read much about that in the “Colon club” web site and many other similar websites.

If you are a young adult and worried about colon cancer, which you should be, then try to convince your doctor to do a stool test. He mostly will refuse because of your young age.
Try to find a doctor that would agree to do that test for you. It’s a very simple test. You might never get colon cancer. But to be safe, don’t’ wait to see the colon cancer symptoms because symptoms of colon cancer usually means it is an advanced stage which is hard to cure. Early stage of cancer is curable.

I’m not a doctor. I am a patient of colon cancer.

I posted a summary of my story and my question on this website. My question was:

“DO I HAVE TO DO COLON RESECTIONI OPERATION?”

The link to it is:

Good luck to you.

doubt about young adult colon canceer

A person can have colon cancer with no symptoms at all. But later, the symptoms will show up when the cancer is in an advanced stage.
Some people are lucky and colon cancer symptoms start to happen at a very early stage.
To be safe, it’s best to check for colon cancer even if a person does not have any symptoms at all.
The easiest test is a stool test. In that test a sample of stool is sent to the lab to check if any occult blood is present. If the test result is positive, a colonoscopy is necessary and colon cancer in this case is a possibility. If the test result is negative, then mostly there is no cancer.
Colon cancer starts with a noncancerous polyp. Later that polyp can become cancerous. Some polyps will not bleed unless the polyp was there for several years and becomes bigger in size. If the stool test was done when the polyp was still small and not bleeding, then the result is negative even though the polyp was there. In that case, cancer is ruled out by the doctor even though there is a polyp that should be removed as soon as possible to prevent the colon cancer from starting. That is why a colonoscopy is the best method to know for sure if there is cancer or not.
You want to know what colon cancer symptoms are.
Any of the following can be a sign of colon cancer. But can be for other reasons:
Loss of weight.
Blood in the stool.
Pain in the abdominal area.
Change in bowel movement habits.
There are many others.
If you go to the web site I have mentioned before. “The colon club” , from the home page click on Models. You will find models for each year. All of them are young people of the 20s and 30s.
If you can’t find that page, search by using Google web site for “colon club calendar”
Or “ colon club colondar” That would take you to the web site that you need to access.
On that web site you will find a calendar like pages. One calendar for each year. 2011, 2010, 2009, and so on. Each month has a model. That model is either a male or female. Each model is telling his or her story with colon cancer. Almost all of them are young adult that had colon cancer and were able to fight it and were able to get rid of it completely. That web site gives a big hope and lessons to those who need to be encouraged and need hope to recover from colon cancer. It is very important for you to find that web site. It will teach you so much about colon cancer.

If you are unable to find that web site, have someone to help you to find that web site.

You can copy this web site addres, paste it in Google search field. you should find it.

The address one more time is:

http://www.colonclub.com/colondar.html

Please let me know if you were able to find it or not.

Fat food increases the risk of colon cancer.
by: ALBERT

Food is one reason that increases the chances or risks of getting colon cancer.

Processed meat, known as deli, such as ham, pastrami, and turkey are the top of the list of food to avoid. Reduce the amount of red meat such as beef.

Avoid eating food that has too much fat in it.

Increase the amount of fresh food: Carrots, apples, red bell pepper and green bell pepper,

One of the best fresh foods for colon is cranberries. Fresh cranberries are very good for colon even though they taste horrible. Just take them as medicine.

Whole wheat bread is also good for the colon.
