Colorectal Cancer surgery wound that has not healed.

My husband was diagnosed with colorectal cancer Jan. 2009. He underwent radiation treatment, then chemotherapy prior to surgery in June 2010. He has a permanent colostomy which hasn't been a problem. However, the surgical wound where they closed the anus has still not healed. He cannot sit properly and is in constant pain. He has had 3 day surgeries since then debriding the wound and now he is scheduled to see a plastic surgeon regarding a skin graft. I would like to hear of others experiences with a similar situation and I wonder if he has the skin graft - will it stop the pain?
