Colorectal Cancer - Post Surgery Chemo

I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in October 2010. I underwent 4 treatments of F5U and Oxaliplatin and 6 weeks of radiation before surgery. No lymph nodes were cancerous. My oncologists is now wanting me to do 8 more chemo treatments. I just finished my first one and I have been horribly sick - worse than the first treatments. Chemo has also caused horrible constipation - defeating all of the healing from surgery. If I was cancer free after surgery is the post surgery chemo absolutely necessary.
