Colonoscopy not always reliable

I got a colonoscopy as we all are advised to do. The result was fine...they said to come back in 10 years. Two and one half years later, I was found to have a 4.5 cm cancerous tumor on my colon. My surgeon said "They must have missed it." Since then I have read articles saying colonoscopies miss 30% of tumors/polops that may be present. The test is not the panacea that is touted. It can lull a patient into a false sense of security. Patients should be told this.

Call me a cynic, but I think the doctor gave you cancer to make money off of your treatment. How? By pinching the inside of your colon with the biopsy forceps or cauterizer. That would cause scar tissue and inflammation which then leads to cancer. Medicine is a very lucrative trade, why do you think they use Hermes' caduceus as their symbol? He was the god who protected merchants, thieves and liars.
