colon resection recovery

by Patty
(scranton,PA)

My husband had a colon resection on December 2, 2009 he is still experiencing pain especially in the morning and is feeling very tired all the time the doctor says it could take months it has now been almost 4 months.
Shouldn't he be able to function normally now? The doctor today told him he is probably still recovering and gave him a prescription for anti depressants.
How is that helping?

Mom not eating after colon cancer surgery NEW
by: Anonymous

My mom had colon cancer surgery about two months ago. Was diagnosed with stage 3. She said overall, that she feels well. The only thing is that her appetite has gone. She forces herself to eat, but that does not really work. She has lost about 40 pounds. The doctors do not really seem to be concerned. The say that this is common, and eventually her appetite will resume. Is this normal??
