Colon Cancer Stage III-metastases and treatment

by Ampelikioti
(Athens, Greece)

My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer stage III at July of 2009, after having surgery, where 52 lymph nodes from the neighbor area of the bowel were removed. 21 of them were cancerous but at that time no metastasis was found.

She was treated with chemotherapy (drugs:xeloda and eloxatin for 8 circles) in combination with radiation therapy for one month. Few days ago,one lymph node at the area of bowel and two very small nodules at the lung (4mm and 6mm) were found cancerous. Her doctor proposed biological medicine combined with chemotherapy.

What is your opinion? Is there another solution more effective? I am completely lost & pessimistic. The period between the end of the therapy and the new appearance of cancer is too short.
I would be grateful for your advice.

Thank you in advance.
