New Colon Cancer web site awarded HON certification
www.ColonCancerResource.com was set up to help the average person understand and take action to solve their colon cancer problems. This unique site puts everything medical about colon cancer in easy to understand language. This comes at a good time because March is Colon Cancer Awareness month.
The Health On the Net Foundation (HON) was created in 1995 to cope with the unprecedented volume of healthcare information available on the Net, through the application of its code of conduct, the HONcode. HON is a non-governmental organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Finding the HON logo gives web viewers greater reassurance that the web site adheres to high standards.
"We want to give average people information they can understand when they are awake at 3am, after they have been told they have this disease and don't know what to do next." That's Steve Goldner, the website editor and owner. "Obtaining HON certification so quickly is a sign that this web site will give people honest and reliable information."
The web site writers urge everyone to get screened for colon cancer. This is a simple medical problem to detect, even in the early stages, and everyone over 50 years of age needs that checkup. Fifty eight thousand* people died of colon cancer last year in the U.S., and that didn't have to happen, the company says.
