colon cancer health status 31 months after learning I have stage 4 colon cancer

On November 6, 2006 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon rectal cancer. The cancer had already spread to my liver and lymph nodes and iliac bone. After a 9 and a half hour surgery the tumor was removed from my colon rectal area.
I have been through 8 types of chemo and radiation therapy twice.
I was recently told that I've run the race but the race is over because my doctors say they have used up all the medicine they have available and unless there is a clinical trial or experimental drug they can find I only have 3 to 6 months left.
The cancer has now spread to my lungs.
The funny thing is that I feel good. I went on a 7 mile canoe trip that took me 4 and a half hours of rowing two weeks ago and my doctor says he can't believe he is looking at the same person that is on the PET scan he is looking at. I am 50 years old and have a very strong faith in God.
I know that prayer is the only reason I am still here and have a quality of life today.
I am curious to know how this will play out if God decides it's my time to die. Will I just not wake up one morning? will my organs gradually shut down? These are questions I have that I need answers to.
