Chemo started - Stage 1 2008 and surprise Stage IV 2011 - found by accident/no symptoms

by B. Oppermann
(Winfield, IL)

Shock! Went to phys. for cracking when breathing lying down and a CXR led to finding lung nodules - CT followed - confirming lung nodules and biopsy confirming Colong cancer returned Stage IV. Going to Northwestern Hospital Chicago for treatment and another CT confirmed small tumor on liver.
Has anyone experienced this type of diagnosis?
I had been excercising regularly, trying to not eat meat, etc., and now coping and started chemotherapy. My doctor seems to think if tumors respond, removal of one L lung lobe and the other L lobe wedged may be treatable and then take care of the liver!
Am trying to be hopeful - just such a shock and thought after all the Dr. follow-ups I was doing the right thing.
Hoping and praying for all others out there and the many, many stories of hope I have read.
