Cancer therapy and research center medical work is conducted at national medical centers around the world.

Cancer therapy and research center medicine in the United States is part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health. The National Cancer Institute's research has helped reduce cancer's toll. In fact, cancer deaths in the United States began to decline in 2003.

You'll find lots of information about cancer on their excellent website at National Cancer Institute. The institute's colon cancer research includes everything from cancer prevention to control. One study showed that people who exercise regularly after being diagnosed with colon cancer increase their survival chances by 40 to 50%.

United Kingdom National Center

The United Kingdom National Center is a partnership between government, industry and charity. In the United Kingdom, the National Cancer Research Institute is the cancer therapy and research center focal point. It's a partnership between government, charity and industry. This institute collects information on cancer research from various organizations. Funding spent on colon cancer research doubled from 2002 to 2007. Their major focus was cancer prevention. Studies on vaccines showed promise. Researchers are also trying to find the best combinations of x-ray and drug therapy.

Spanish National Cancer Research Centre

The Spanish National Cancer Research Centre has been looking for new drugs to treat cancer. Their Gastrointestinal Cancer Clinical Research Unit has found some novel drugs. Researchers take cancer cells from patients and use them to test for the most effective drugs and doses.

Japanese National Center

The Japanese National Center is doing human cell studies and immunization programs. At Japan's National Cancer Center Research Institute, scientists are looking at human cells to determine what makes them prone to cancer. They're also trying to find ways to make people immune to cancer.

German Cancer Research Center

Researchers at the German Cancer Research Center are finding links between infection and cancer. Scientists are looking at the role that viruses play in causing cancer. They're also finding ways to use viruses to destroy cancer cells.

"Researchers at the German Cancer Research Center are finding links between infection and cancer."

Canadian National Centre

The Canadian National Centre is examing the effects of exercise and dietary changes. The Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute studied the effects of exercise on colon cancer survivors. Another study focused on killing tumors by cutting off their blood supply. Scientists are now looking at a potential link between a diet low in vitamin B1 and colon cancer.

Cancer Is Studied From Every Angle Around The Globe

Each country's cancer therapy and research center studies cancer from every angle. They're all conducting research on the biology, detection, prevention, treatment, control - and cure - of cancer. No matter which country you live in, colon cancer claims lives. All of these institutes study common items.

  • Cells and how they affect the likelihood of getting cancer. How they factor in immunity.
  • Prevention methods using chemicals. Personal behaviors that help prevent cancer.
  • Ways to detect cancer as early as possible. Using DNA and genetic tests to tell who is at risk.
  • Cutting edge treatments for cancer. Finding treatments that are easier on patients.
  • Ways to control cancer after treatment. How to keep it from getting worse or coming back.
  • Recovery. Affects of lifestyle, nutrition, exercise.
  • Ways to keep cancer patients comfortable during treatment.

Scientists are finding new ways to help us beat cancer every day. No one country has the best approach to research although the greatest amount of research is performed in the United States, which also has the greatest amount of funding. All of the research is published in cancer research journals. It can be difficult to get that information unless you pay for a subscription, which can be very expensive. But all important results are now available on the web.

Let us know if you can't find something you are looking for and we will be happy to locate the research and send it to you.
