Bloody stools
by: Jennifer

My husband had the same problem. It was not every time he had a bowel movement but at times there was dark red blood. He saw his primary care physician who referred him to a GI doctor and they scheduled a colonoscopy and an EGD. They were worried because it was darker red meaning it was coming from somewhere higher up, meaning they did not think it was hemorrhoids. They found a small polyp that was removed and some hemorroids. We will go back to the GI for a follow up but in talking with him, there is nothing to worry about. Make the appointment to find out what's going on and go from there. Best of luck to y'all.

Your husband must do a colonoscopy.
by: ALBERT

Your husband must see a doctor immediately and insists on doing a colonoscopy.
If the doctor refuses, then go to another doctor.
The blood could be for many reasons. Some are not dangerous and some are extremely dangerous.
