I have a puch - it's fairly new (4 months) and its totally manageable. It hasn't prevented me from doing anything.

However its not something I would volunteer for!

The good news is most colon resections do not require a permanent ostomy. Some don't even require a temporary one. If you do it will be reversed after the colon has healed - usually 3 months.
