April Fools day in Canada- and I have cancer

On April 1, 2011, April Fools Day, in Canada I entered hospital for a routine Colonoscopy and never had any idea of what I was about to be told, that I had Stage 3 Colon Cancer.Cops do not cry or show emotion in dealing with a crisis, but this was different it was me.It took several days before the reality of what I had been advised. I had surgery to remove the Cancer but it had entered the lymph nodes and Chemotherapy was required for six months.
The chemo was devestating and every two weeks after treatments for three days at a time, I grew weaker and weaker totally unable to do anything. A new issue developed as a result of the chemo side effect neurotherapy, a tingling in the hands and feet.
Eight months later after surgery and chemo, I was told that I was Cancer free, but the neurotherapy had gotten worst now the chemo has stopped.
I have a great deal of trouble walking and with my hands as the nerve endings have been damaged by the chemo, and there is no cure so I am hoping it will repair itself as time passes.
To all those who think it will not happen to me think again, that was me before my life was shattered by colon cancer.
It is my hope that as further tests are required in three months, that I continue to be Cancer free.
