You never know...
by: Anonymous

I have an uncle who was given months to live after being diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He was dissatisfied with the healthcare system in his area and the care he was receiving, and since he had to wait so long to be penciled in for surgery, he decided to consider any and all alternative options. He found some doctor (probably alternative medicine) who told him to try Goji juice in conjunction with something called SOD (it has to be the two together.) He did and 10 years later is still alive and kicking, cancer-free. He never regained the weight he lost, but other than that leads a normal life.

I have tried to get my Mom, who has colon cancer, to try it but she dismisses it as hooey. No conventional doctor will champion that type of "medicine" so who can you ask? I'd personally take the word of a stage 4 survivor if I was facing this incredibly daunting reality. (He does not sell the stuff, either.)

I wish you the very best!

Don't Give Up - Anderson Cancer Center is an option
by: Anonymous

Don't give up. My dad had a very rare cancer - anaplastic thyroid carcinoma. He beat it! Md Anderson in Houston Texas was ready for this type of cancer and they helped him beat it. He is a miracle. If possible go there. They are the experts at treating any type of cancer. it is a huge facility that will treat you the whole person from the important diets, to the reactions of the meds, and treatments to your mental health. The very best of luck to you for a healthy recovery.

HANG IN THERE
by: Jillian Payne

Positive thinking all the time. Practise strengthening your immune system everyday, picture the power coming into your body. Believe you will live, you will. I beat breast cancer eight years ago, now I have to beat this colon cancer and am 73, have adopted a little African girl 10 years ago must live for her she has no one else, finances also a burden so have opened a Pottery to try to sustain us all. To hell with this cancer I will overcome it. Good luck all my fellow sufferers.

My college roommate now 38, oct 2011 was diagnosed w/rectal cancer after the birth of her 2nd child when she was 36.She had surgery to remove the tumor, went through aggressive chemo and radiation. It spread to her liver now her lymph nodes as of Dec. 6, 2011.She had been undergoing clinical trials at University Hospital in Cleveland and it did not make an impact, infact it continued to spread. She feels like she may have 1 year. I am so sorry for all of you, especially those of you who are young. This disease is not supposed to be for you!!!

stage 4 cancer
by: Anne

I have a friend who was diagnosed stage 4 at the age of 80. She did die of the disease after 5 1/2 years. So keep the fight and enjoy each day. My friend lived to be 85 years old. I will keep you in my thoughts.
